My Approach to Normal Delivery & Reducing C-Sections
Ethical, patient-focused care prioritizing natural birth. Learn about Dr. Payal's approach to labor and avoiding unnecessary C-sections.
One of the first questions patients ask me is, "Doctor, what is your C-section rate?" I love this question because it shows you care about your body. My philosophy is simple: Pregnancy is a physiological process, not a disease. A C-section is a life-saving surgery, not a convenient shortcut.

How We Work Together
- Patience is Key: Labor can be long. I am willing to wait with you as long as you and the baby are safe. We don't rush the clock.
- Pain Management: Whether you choose an epidural or natural breathing techniques (Lamaze), I support your choice.
- Induction: I do not believe in inducing labor just to fit a schedule. We only induce if medically necessary.
Pain Management Options
I want your labor to be as comfortable as possible. We offer various pain relief options:
- Epidural Analgesia: A commonly used option that can substantially reduce labor pain while allowing you to remain awake. Individual response varies.
- Entonox (Gas & Air): Helps take the edge off contractions.
- Newborn & Labour Support: Our team provides continuous support, massage, and position changes to help labor progress naturally.
When is a C-Section Needed?
I will always be honest. If the baby is in distress or if labor isn't progressing despite our best efforts, we will discuss a C-section transparently. But it will never be the first option just to save time.
