“I’m eating less, but the scale won’t move.” This is one of the most common frustrations I hear from women with PCOS. It is not your fault. PCOS changes insulin response and makes weight management harder—but not impossible.

Why Weight Feels Stubborn in PCOS

Insulin resistance can increase fat storage and cravings. Poor sleep, stress, and irregular meal timing make it worse. We need a strategy that improves hormones first, not just calorie counting.

    A Sustainable 4-Step Approach

    1. Plate method: Half vegetables, quarter protein, quarter complex carbs.
    2. Strength training: 3 sessions/week to improve insulin sensitivity.
    3. Protein-forward breakfast: Helps reduce cravings through the day.
    4. Sleep target: 7-8 hours to support hormonal regulation.

    How Much Loss Is Enough?

For some patients, sustainable changes in nutrition, activity, sleep, and weight can improve metabolic health and cycle regularity. The goal should be individualized rather than based on an extreme diet.

My advice: Stop aiming for “perfect.” Aim for repeatable habits. If needed, we combine lifestyle with medical treatment for better long-term results.
