"Doctor, my period comes whenever it wants—sometimes after 2 months, sometimes after 6 weeks." I hear this almost every day in my clinic. Many women think this is just how their body works. But here's the thing: irregular periods are your body's SOS signal.

    What is "Normal" Anyway?

A normal cycle is anywhere between 21 to 35 days. If your period comes like clockwork at day 28 or day 32, that's perfectly fine. But if one month it's 25 days and the next it's 50 days—that's irregular, and we need to figure out why.

Common Causes I See in Bangalore Women

    • PCOS: This is number one. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome affects so many young women here, especially those with desk jobs and long work hours.
    • Thyroid Issues: Both overactive and underactive thyroid can mess up your cycle. A simple blood test can catch this.
    • Stress: Yes, I know everyone blames stress. But it's real—Bangalore traffic, deadlines, and poor sleep genuinely affect your hormones.
    • Weight Changes: Sudden weight gain or loss can stop ovulation completely.

    When Should You See Me?

Don't wait for years. If your periods have been irregular for more than 3 months, please get checked. We'll do a simple ultrasound and some blood tests. Most of the time, it's easily treatable.

Remember: Your period is like a monthly report card from your body. If it's irregular, your body is trying to tell you something. Let's listen to it together.
